Hi! I am Kanchan, a geologist turned oceanograper.
I started my career as an honors student in Geology. With time I became more and more involved in applied geology and started working in remote sensing applications in Geology.
But it was in the summer of 2000, which I spent at the Isotope Geology Lab of the Geological Survey of India, that I got interested in geological applications of radioisotopes. So after completing my masters dissertation (on Seismic hazard zonations using remote sensing data!), I got myself involed in the field of radiochemistry. This time, however, my application area changed from geology to oceanography.
So here I am working on my Phd in environmental radiogeochemistry!
